Process of TRADEMARK REGISTRATION

Trademark Search

Trademark search will help you to know the availability of a mark and to find whether any other similar or identical mark exists. All goods & services are organized under 45 classes by The World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO). The first 35 classes are for products and the remaining for services.

Trademark application allotment

An application for registration has to be made. Once the trademark registration application is filed with the registrar, a trademark application allotment number is generated. The application can then be tracked online. On obtaining the allotment number, the owner of the trademark can use the Trademark symbol next to the logo..

Vienna codification

After filing the application, the registrar will apply the Vienna classification to the trademark based on the figurative elements of marks.

Trademark Examination

After Vienna codification is completed, the trademark registration application will be sent to the trademark registrar office. The trademark application will be reviewed for any correction, and a trademark examination report will be issued. The application will be either accepted and allowed for journal publication or object the same.

Objection

If the trademark registration application is objected, the trademark applicant should appear before the officer and address the objections raised.

Journal Publication

After the trademark registration application is accepted, the proposed mark is published in the trademark journal.

Trademark Registration

If there are no objections to the application, the trademark manuscript and trademark registration certificate will be issued.
